The Foster Kids Snack Bag Program (Since 2013)

Foster Kids Charity was established in 2011 to provide the basic needs of foster children experiencing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Through community partnerships, volunteers, and compassionate donors, we provide practical support that reminds every child they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Our Story

One moment that changed everything.

Our founder, Michelle, witnessed a tragic accident involving a young foster child. She performed CPR on a foster child, but despite every effort, the foster child passed away.

Later Michelle attended CPS offices and family court proceedings and noticed another heartbreaking reality: Children involved in the child welfare system often spend hours waiting while adults make decisions that affect their future:

Many children arrive frightened.

Many are hungry.

Many are bored.

Many have nothing to comfort them.

Watching children quietly wait through stressful situations inspired Michelle to act.

The Need

Children involved in child protection and family court often experience:

  • Long wait or transport periods
  • Anxiety and uncertainty
  • Hunger
  • Emotional distress
  • Lack of age-appropriate activities

Although these moments may only last a few hours, they leave lasting memories.

A small act of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

Our Solution - Snack bag for every child

Each snack bag is carefully assembled by volunteers.

Every bag may include:

  • Fruit snacks
  • Crackers
  • Juice or water
  • Fidget toy
  • Notebook
  • Markers or crayons
  • Encouraging message

Each bag is designed to provide nourishment, distraction, comfort, and reassurance during difficult appointments.

Our program helps children by:

  • Reducing hunger during lengthy appointments
  • Providing calming sensory items
  • Giving children something positive to focus on

A snack bag cannot solve every challenge a foster child face.

It can provide comfort during a difficult day.

Volunteer Impact

Our volunteers are part of every child's story. Corporate groups, community organizations, schools, and families work together to assemble snack bags that directly support foster children. This program is serving children year-round.

FKC is actively seeking sponsorship, contributions or volunteers to hold a snack bag drive for this program. We currently serve 500 snack bags per month. The cost per back is $2.00

Every donation creates a direct impact!

Monthly donations help ensure that every child receives comfort when they need it most.

Monthly support help continue this program on a regular basis.

$2.00 provides one complete snack bag for one child.

$100 supports 200 children.

$500 supports  500 children.

$1,000 supports 1000 children.
