Volunteer with Foster Kids Charity

A Meaningful Way to Make A Difference!

How You Can Help

We have several opportunities for volunteers to get involved:

1. Product Donations

Help us meet the needs of foster children and teens with essential and uplifting items:

  • Snack Bags: Individual snacks to create care packages for children served at the local adoption court.
  • Foster Teen Essentials:
    • Deodorant, perfume, and makeup
    • Male and female hair care products
    • Socks
    • Gift cards for popular retail shops and restaurants (favorites include In-N-Out, McDonald’s, Subway, Walmart, Kroger, and Ulta)

2. Laptops and Technology

Many foster teens don’t have access to their own devices, which are critical for education, work, and staying connected.
We need:

  • Laptops (new)
  • Tablets (new)
  • Smartphones (new or refurbished and reset)
  • Tripods, Bluetooth headphones/earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, and other gadgets

3. Journals and Stationery

Diary-style notebooks and pens are simple yet impactful tools for teens to express themselves and stay organized.

4. Tickets to Experiences

Donate tickets for:

  • Movies
  • Sporting events
  • Community events

5. Monetary Donations

Financial contributions allow us to address the specific needs of foster youth all year round. Your donations can:

  • Help purchase the items listed above.
  • Create a dedicated Foster Teen Fund, so we can respond quickly to requests from teens aging out of care, graduating high school, or needing support for independent living.

Why Volunteer with Us?

Workplace Volunteer Hours

Do you have access to paid volunteer hours through your employer? We’d love to have you! Whether you can volunteer regularly or only once in a while, every hour counts.

Community Service Opportunities for Students

Foster Kids Charity welcomes middle school and high school students who need verified community service hours for school programs, graduation requirements, clubs, or scholarships.

Because we are a small nonprofit organization, student volunteers play an important role in helping us reach more people and collect essential items for children in foster care.

Students can earn community service hours by helping with community outreach, awareness building, and donation collection efforts.

Our programs are designed so students can participate independently, from school, or from home.

Ways Students Can Earn Community Service Hours

We offer several flexible opportunities for students to earn verified community service hours.

5 Community Service Hours

Students can earn 5 hours by helping expand awareness of our mission.

Examples may include:

  • Friends and family

  • Teachers or school staff

  • Neighbors

  • Community members

  • Local businesses

This activity helps support: Community outreach, fundraising support, awareness building for children in foster care

10 Community Service Hours-Promote Our Urgent Needs

Students can earn 10 hours by helping promote our urgent and immediate needs.

Because we rely on community donations, spreading the word helps us reach people who may be able to help.

Students can promote our needs through:

  • Email outreach to friends and family

  • Social media posts

  • Sharing our donation needs with community groups

Students should copy our organization on outreach emails sent to potential donors AND tag our Instagram account when posting about our needs

20 Community Service Hours -Organize a Donation Drive

Students can earn 20 community service hours by organizing a donation drive to collect items needed for our programs.

  • Promote the donation drive online and onsite

  • Set up a donation box at school, a workplace, or a community location

  • Collect donated items
